Coming for people for their opinions 

So this week, I wrote about how we are slowly losing our freedom of speech. I wrote about what Neo said. He thought a child should wait until they were 18 to make a life choice of who they were before getting surgery. This was his opinion, and everyone came after him and wanted him to apologize. He refused, saying this was his opinion. Well, when I wrote this blog, everyone came after me as well.

Some troll even went as far as calling me a Natzi because I voiced my opinion. This is laughable because 1. He obviously didn't read the whole blog because he didn't know who Neo was or what he said, and 2. He obviously doesn't know Jack about me because if he did, he would know that I have a united nation of friends. I support all rights, women, Black, Native Americans, LGBTQ community, and everyone's rights. But because I am a writer, I support freedom of speech the most.

I have never condoned bad behavior against any group or any person. And just saying that you think a child should wait to be able to do a life changing procedure isn't saying you don't support them. 

I remember telling my girls to think long and hard about the tattoos they picked because they would be there forever. And what you think you want now may not be what you want in the future. Of course, they didn't listen, and now 10 years later, they are enduring pain and lots of money to have them removed.

This was Neo's opinion and mine as well. We didn't say anything bad about the LGBTQ community. We didn't say it wasn't right to make a change. We simply said we thought a child should wait until he became of age. Yet so many people came for me because this was MY OPINION. Are we not allowed to have an opinion different from someone else? Do the trolls not have anything better to do than come after people who have different ideas than they do? 

What happened to the United States of America, which was a melting pot that took in everyone who needed refuge. No matter what color or what language they spoke. They came here because of our rights, that they could speak out without worrying about prosecution. 

What happened to being able to voice your opinion and not be worried about being canceled? Or being called names by a bunch of haters, is that acting better? Again, I am not saying it's okay to demean or put down a person for their race, religion, or sexual orientations. I am saying if I don't agree with what you're saying, that's my opinion. Is that not the meaning of free speech?

So today, my friends, remember, everyone is allowed to have an opinion.

Their opinions may not be like your opinion, but that's okay, this is why we live in a free country. There is no need to come at someone with hatred because of it. As of now, free speech is still in existence, and everyone gets this right.
