Living my life on my own terms

I make no apologies for my life. I no longer have to answer to anyone but God. I live my life on my own terms. I don't care if you like it or not.

Sorry if that seems harsh, but when I walked away from my marriage, I no longer cared what anyone else thought. I am not in this for the likes or the approval of others. I speak my truth only with the hopes of helping others out there who may be in the same situation and feel alone.

So many people today are so wrapped up in their "status" on social media. Why? The more that they "love" you, the more haters there will be, cutting you down. And seriously, at the end of the day, does it really matter what they say? 

When I speak at events for young people, I always talk about my story of being in high school. I was a tomboy, I only had guy friends. So that led everyone to assume and say that I was a whore.

I dated the same boy from 13-19 and was a virgin until my 18th birthday. But it didn't matter, that was the label they gave me.

So I learned that people are going to talk about you whether it is true or not. Whether they know you or not, they will have something to say. So if they are going to talk about me anyways, let me give them something to talk about.

So today my friends, remember people will talk about you, and they will judge you. So who cares! Let them talk. Live your best life and make no apologies. 

Give them something to talk about while you're living your best life on your own terms.
