You never know

You never know what's going to happen to you...
As I sit in this airport this morning, going home to bury my cousin, this is what is going through my head.

Recently I lost my cousin suddenly to a heart attack. She was 10 years older than me and was more like a big sister than a cousin. She was bigger than life, she was my shero, someone I looked up to and wanted to be just like.
And poof she's gone...just like that. See that's how life goes, in a split second it can change.

You never know...you could meet your soul mate.
You never know... your dreams can come true.
You never know...one day your struggling and the next your an international blogging star. (That was for me, just putting it out there!)
You never know... you get the good news your cancer free

You never know...you lose your best friend.
You never know...you lose your job.
You never know... your spouse cheats on you.

See you never know what's going to happen. One day your on top of the world and the next your at the bottom of the barrel.

I use to imagine what my life would be like when I was finally free of my verbal abusive marriage. And in one year my life was completely different... everything had changed.
I was miserable and I hated my life and then a year later
I had my own home, a new business and a boyfriend after 24 years of not dating. Boy oh boy, life can change, I was happier than I could have dreamed of.

No, today my friends remember anything can happen...tomorrow is not giving to us...today is a present and we should treat it as such.
We should be grateful, we should treat it with respect, enjoy every second of it. We should be present with the people in our lives, not on our phones, in our own world. The moments we will remember are the ones that have laughter, that hold memories, that touch our hearts.
Because you never know...
What will happen tomorrow...
You never know.
