Moving from Fizzle to Sizzle
"Get your audiences moving and you will eliminate fatigue, closed minds and wondering thoughts. It works every time"
What is a speaker's worst nightmare? To look out into their audience I realize people are nodding off in the middle of your presentation.
You can tell yourself maybe they didn't sleep last night, maybe it's time for their afternoon nap or any other excuse you want to give. But the end result is, it's your presentation and they're not fully present.
It's your job to learn how to add sizzle to your presentations. You need to add a little kick and some excitement into your presentation. You have to spice it up like Chef Emerald does with his signature "Bam" What he says when he kicks up his recipes on TV.
You also need to spice up your presentation with a well-placed joke, a humorous story or even a group exercise. Anything that gets your audience thinking, moving or communicating will keep them energized.
Questions always get your audience involved. They want answer you, they want to be part of your presentation.
Your heart story will also get your audience to connect and keep your attention on you.
The key is to ensure that your presentation has a purpose it needs to help your audience connect, understand and remember key points you're trying to teach them.
This is where you can shine, be creative, get them up and moving. This will take your audience from their logical mind and into their hearts. I love creating games that get my audiences up and moving. I make my audiences engage with each other and with me, this is where positive changes happen.
When your audience is involved, they are more likely to opening up and letting go of outdated concepts.
The more you can keep your audience involved, the more attentive they will be and the more they will remember you and what you said.
I've had people tell me they saw me speak years before and they remember what I said and how it changed their lives. This is why we do what we do, because we want to be an influence on someone's life. Show them your sizzle!
