Life is too short not to have fun
Last week was my baby's birthday and she turned 21 and it was then I realized how fast times fly by. In a blink of an eye, you turn around and 21 years go by. It seemed like yesterday that she was born and now here she is 21.
I try to live life to the fullest now, I enjoy every moment because I know we are not guaranteed tomorrow. I know it's okay to laugh at myself, to look stupid in public and to laugh, big and loud all time. This was something I couldn't do for years! As I always was told "What would people think? I no longer care what people think, they don't pay my bills, so who cares. This is my life and if I want to laugh loud, act silly or dance in the street, damn it,I will!
Even during this pandemic, when the world seems to be falling apart, I chose to live in the moment, I chose to be grateful and still live my best life in spite of what's going on.
So this weekend when me and Victoria started singing in the car, on our road trip to find a beach, I started laughing. Yes, we both suck at singing but who cares, we were having fun, we were living in the moment.
We have some of our best times in the car, singing loud and off key to our favorite songs. So what that people are looking, so what we are not Whitney, so what we might look crazy to others, we are having a blast and that is how I live my life now. I am no longer worried about what people think, which was my ex's biggest things.
"What will people think?"
"Don't laugh loud, don't tell dirty jokes,don't curse, don't do this...don't do that, what would people think?"
Who gives a flying fuck!! Am I hurting anyone? Am I committing a crime? Is the world going to come to an end if I act a fool?
No! It's not, so who cares…
not me, certainly not anymore else.
No, and guess what? I am having way too much fun to even worry, if they were.
I refuse to miss a moment, by being too busy trying to be someone I am not. By being too busy worrying about what "people" think, by working all the time and never taking any time to play. I want to be with my girls any chance I get, to do whatever, with them even if it's just singing in the car with them.
No, life is not about how much money you die with, how big your house was or the fancy car you drove. It's not about what the Jones thought of you, or if your acting like a child, it is about who you made laugh. It's about how good of a friend you were, did you have compassion for others, if you were present in each and every incredible moment God gave us here, and if you are trying to be the best person you could be, that is what is truly important.
So today my friends, remember do what makes you happy, do you, live your life large, laugh often, dance in your kitchen, sing in your car with your kids...take time out to enjoy the small things...and be present in each and every moment because life is too short not to have fun.
