The definition of insanity

What is the definition of insanity? 

It is when you keep doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

I was just speaking to my girlfriend about this, because I know I use to do this when it comes to men. I keep giving chance after chance thinking it will be different.

Hell, I even remember when an ex tried to come back into the picture and even though I knew the end results because of his past behaviors. I knew he lied and ghosted me, and how every time we tried to get back together we ended up screaming and fighting but I still thought "well maybe"

Why do we do that? Why do we keep trying to do things over and over expecting different results? We want it to be different, we expect it to be different, we pray for it to be different, yet time and time again the results are the same!

We stay in the same relationship for years after years hoping that he won't cheat or lie again yet there he goes with another excuse of why he strayed again and there you go taking him back again.

We let our spouse physically and verbally abuse us. Then they cry and say they are sorry, that they will never do it again and then next month you are crying yet again from the words that cut you to the core.

The drunk that lives with you or the pill popper that swears in a drunken, drugged up haze that this will be the last time that you will be cleaning the puke off their faces and yet the next week, you are there, doing just that.

Yet, in every promise, in every tear, you believe that things will change. That somehow it will be better and each time you seem to end up like the star of the movie Groundhog's day, where he wakes up every day replaying the same day over and over, except this is not a movie, this is your life!!

You need to take a step of faith, you need to realize that it's never going to change, if it hasn't by now it never will. Don't get me wrong I am a big believer in change. I know people can change, I understand that you should give forgiveness, and that everyone deserves a second chance. Yes, I do believe that but I also believe in cutting your losses and running away like Forrest Gump, when it is beneficial to your health and well being. Listen to me, run Forrest run!

I am always promoting self wellness and even though I may be like Tinkerbell and I believe in happily  ever after, I am not here to sugar coat things. If you want that, watch Willy Wonka, I don't sugar coat shit, sorry I'm not him.

I am here to tell you the real deal,open your eyes, and listen to your inner voice. The voice that is telling you to be quiet, the one you hear yet you try to justify by your excuses, the one that is screaming...get out, not true, they're lying, run!

Yes, that one. Listen to that voice, it knows the truth, even if you are wearing your rose colored glasses, that voice sees it all. Stop the insanity today! Get off this crazy ride that you've been on, stop doing the same things expecting different results. It's unbelievable what change can do to your life, I am a living witness to that, Hell if I can do it, you'll have no problem. 

So today my friends, I am stopping the insanity as I now know the definition of it. I will tell it to you again in case you're hard headed like me. Insanity is doing the same things, expecting different results. So be like me and just like I say at the end of every blog...
